Welded Wire Mesh
Welded at every crossing, welded wire mesh is lighter than woven wire mesh because the wires are not crimped. This results in overall less material. Cut outs may be constructed with one wire soldered to the next. Welded wire mesh doesn’t lose its shape.
For applications that require smaller gaps to provide increased security for smaller objects, eight, ten or twelve gauge wire can be chosen. Pharmaceutical and financial applications often opt for ten gauge ¾” mesh or twelve gauge ½” mesh, respectively. This prevents small objects like currency or small pill bottles from being able to be transferred through the gaps in the wire.
In machine guarding and perimeter guarding solutions, we employ ten gauge welded wire in a 1 1/4" x 2 1/2" rectangular mesh. This mesh complies with the RIA (Robotic Institute of America) specifications.
